Mission & Scholarship
The Blount County Chapter of the Alumni Association has approximately 1,800 members. The Board members host alumni engagement events such as the Alvin C. Baker Harvest Craft Fair & Bake Sale and the Christmas Open House. All monies raised help support the Blount County Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Mission
Our Mission is to promote the interests of Maryville College, to maintain and establish mutually beneficial relations between the College and its alumni, and to raise funds for scholarships to benefit Maryville College students who are residents of Blount County, TN.
Scholarship
The BCAA awards two $2,500 scholarships annually to support a connection with the community and ongoing engagement to the College. The BCAA builds relationships with scholarship recipients in order to create post-graduation opportunities and encourage active alumni investment.
To be considered, applicants must:
Be involved on the campus in some way.
Engage with the BCAA in some way during their junior and senior years.
Be in good standing with the College, both academically and behaviorally.
Maintain a 2.5 GPA.
Be a graduate from a high school in Blount County, TN.
Be a rising junior or senior.
A student holding the BCAA Endowed Scholarship in one year shall have preference in subsequent years.
Financial need may be considered.
